At Washington Irving's Sunnyside, visitors enjoy a 50-minute guided tour of the charming 19th-century cottage led by costumed educators. The tour explores the home's unique architecture, period furnishings, and the legacy of Irving, best known for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip Van Winkle, as well as his life with his extended family who lived with him at the estate. Visitors will also see the kitchen yard and ice house.
After the tour, guests are welcome to stroll the picturesque grounds, which include picnic tables, and visit the museum shop.
