Philipsburg Manor offers partial wheelchair accessibility. We encourage visitors with mobility concerns to review the following details to determine if the site meets their needs.
Parking and Visitor Center
- Wheelchair-accessible parking is available in the main lot.
- A ramp leads to the Visitor Center entrance. The door is not automatic, but a doorbell is available for assistance.
- Accessible restrooms are located inside the Visitor Center.
Path and Historic Core
- After check-in, visitors exit through the rear of the greenhouse and descend a granite path to a bridge leading onto the historic site.
- If the path is too steep, an alternate step-free route can be provided by staff upon request.
- The site features gravel paths with gentle slopes and some uneven terrain.
Grist Mill
- There is a ramp to access the mill.
- Inside the mill are a set of steps that lead down to the lower level.
Manor House
- The first and second floors of the Manor House are accessible via ramps.
- The third floor of the Manor House is only accessible by a set of 12 narrow, steep stairs. There is another similar flight of stairs back down to the first floor.
- Visual tours with images of the entire site are available upon request for those who cannot access upper levels.
Activity Center
- The Activity Center is only accessible by stairs, though in good weather, activities are held outside.
New World Dutch Barn
- The barn is accessed via a small slope.
Alternative Site Access
For visitors who cannot cross the bridge, there is an alternate way to access the site. For access, please speak with the Historic Hudson Valley staff.
